Arriving by Ferry from Spain
Ferries from Tarifa arrive at Tangier Ville port in the city centre, while ferries from Algeciras dock at Tangier Med, about 45 minutes east. Tell us your ferry company and crossing time; your driver will track delays and wait for you after passport control. If you arrive late in the day, we recommend a night in Tangier or in Asilah on the Atlantic coast before heading south.
What to See in and around Tangier
The Kasbah and its museum, the Grand Socco and the old American Legation are the classic sights, along with Cape Spartel and the Caves of Hercules where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean. Nearby, Asilah is a whitewashed seaside town known for its murals, and Tetouan has one of the best-preserved medinas in Morocco. For the mountains, Chefchaouen and the Akchour waterfalls are two hours away.
