7 Day Tour from Marrakech to Fes: Kasbahs, Sahara and Imperial Cities

You sleep in a kasbah in the Skoura oasis, in the Dades Valley, two nights in the Sahara at Merzouga and two nights in Fes, with a day for Meknes and the Roman ruins of Volubilis.

Day by Day
Day 1: Marrakech → Ait Ben Haddou → Skoura
Cross the High Atlas, visit Ait Ben Haddou with a guide, and continue past Ouarzazate to a kasbah hotel in the Skoura oasis.
Day 2: Skoura → Valley of Roses → Dades Gorge
A morning walk in the palm grove, then the Valley of Roses and the hairpin road of the Dades Gorge. Night in the valley.
Day 3: Dades → Todra Gorge → Merzouga
Walk the Todra Gorge and drive to a hotel at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes for sunset.
Day 4: Merzouga desert day
Explore by 4x4: Khamlia, a nomad camp, the fossil quarries and the Rissani souk. Late afternoon camel trek to a desert camp for dinner under the stars.
Day 5: Merzouga → Midelt → Ifrane → Fes
Sunrise in the dunes, then north through the Ziz Valley and the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas to Fes.
Day 6: Full day in Fes
A licensed guide leads you through Fes el-Bali: madrasas, tanneries, fountains and craft quarters.
Day 7: Meknes → Volubilis → Moulay Idriss → Fes
A day trip to Meknes and the Roman city of Volubilis, with a stop at the holy town of Moulay Idriss. Back in Fes for your final evening, or drop-off at Fes airport.
